A Senior In High School Has Anxiety Regarding The Future

Updated on May 26, 2015

Missing Link is originally from rural Ohio. He currently lives in Hillsboro, OR. with his Wife and two Sons.

I wrote this many years ago:

Sitting in class

A few more days to go

The future's coming fast

Right now is going slow

What am I gonna do?

Who am I gonna be?

No longer am I protected

No longer am I free

So many paths to choose from

And only one may I find

The future's coming fast

I'm losing my mind

Everyone so certain

I ask how can this be?

Everyone so confident...

and right here there's worried me.

      Thanks whonu!

Your advice was correct. I wrote this poem MANY years ago and what you say is how it turned out and is how I see it now.

      Best wishes!

We all share your feelings at some time in our lives. Never give up and keep on digging. You are your best friend and you can accomplish more great things. Have faith and confidence in yourself and those around you will be delighted and unafraid to face the new day. Best wishes my friend, whonu.

Thanks ahorseback---for stopping by and commenting!

I suspect many can relate to it.

      Best wishes!

I remember those moments , or actually the futility of knowing that financially , there was no way I was going to go on to college . If nothing more , today , there are more resources for those who wish it . Enough perhaps , to waste the opportunity on saying , "Like , I don't really know what I'm going to be when I have to grow up " LOL ,cute poem .
