A Short Meeting With~~'Happiness!"

© Chitrangada Sharan, October 2016

After a long-long wait;

I met her yesterday;

with eyes wide n face bright;

and heart pumping fast;

Oh the excitement -- so difficult to control;

I struggled hard to calm my nerves;

And wanted to preserve each moment in my memory;

Could this moment last forever~~~;

I asked to myself;

But ''HAPPINESS"~~~~

She had to leave;

She was in hurry;

She does not stay for long;

Not longer than a while;

Neither with me nor anyone.

      You said it beautifully Debangee and in simple words!

      One can choose to be happy in spite of all odds . It's a virtue that has to be cultivated carefully and nurtured too.

      Thanks for your wonderful feedback!

      Happiness does automatically come to anyone. It is present in every small thing playing hide and seek like naught kids. Happiness needs to be found and kept to oneself very carefully.

      Nice poem with wonderful pictures . Enjoyed it.

      I'm glad that you met Her and no, She is not fleeting. All that are truly worthy are hard to grasp. It is your ceaseless Love that will eventually stab Her elusiveness, and flood your core with Her Delight.

      Thanks Manatita for your presence on my hub!

      By God's grace I am happy and content. I feel really blessed to have a loving family, friends and well wishers such as you.

      This poem was to highlight the general human perception about Happiness. I believe Happiness comes from within, by being content in whatever we have by the grace of the Almighty. And we should never forget to thank 'Him' every moment for our precious life.

      Thank you! Hari Om!

      Thank you Faith Reaper for your wonderful comments!

      I completely agree with your views--If we are calm and composed in both favourable as well as unfavourable times, with complete faith in the Almighty, everything becomes so simple.

      I am sorry I didn't know that you have survived that dreadful disease.

      May God bless you with good health and lots of happiness!

      I am loving the comments in response to this poem. All of you are so inspirational to me. I feel blessed to know such wonderful people.

      What a beautiful thought, Audrey! I agree with you.

      Gratitude towards God can make us content and happy. We must thank the Almighty for all that we have.

      Everything around us is beautiful--We must know how to appreciate life, the Nature and the World full of wonderful people , all created by 'Him'.

      Thank you for reading and appreciating the poem!

      Thanks billybuc for your comments! Always appreciated.

      Yes you are right--Happiness is a state of mind.

      Haven't we seen some people who smile and laugh with their heart , despite the fact that they do not have all the luxuries of life! At the same time one can see those who have everything, all luxuries , but they are still sad and their desires do not seem to end.

      Thanks for your feedback and have a good day!

      What a lovely and thought-provoking poem! You say so much with few words. I think Audrey (vocalcoach) hit the nail on the head with being grateful in hard times and in good times. When I wake up I praise the Lord God for another day of life and all, so it's kind of hard after that to not be happy. I'm a breast cancer survivor and so I realize how important each day is ...truly a gift.

      Blessings

      A thought-provoking poem which I've given some thought to. I think happiness begins with gratitude. And we all have something to be grateful for despite difficult times.

      Nature certainly gives us plenty to be happy about. Thank you my friend.

      I had to stop and think about this one. Is happiness truly fleeting for a happy person? I'm not sure. I've known some who always seemed happy, despite hardships....was it an act on their part?

      Anyway, I loved the poem...it made me reflect on my own state of happiness.

      A beautiful description of happiness as a delicate although fleeting happenstance.

      We try to be happy most of the time yet now I wonder if that may be a little unfair to the whole host of feelings that want us to share in their ways too. But feeling happy is our heartfelt quest.

      I love the heartbeat colour of the cherry red you chose to photograph for this lovely poem.

      A beautiful poem with a good message. Happiness does not stay long as she has to meet so many billions of people in this world. But, even then, we can experience happiness for more moments in our daily lives, if we can notice it all around there in simple things.
