A Single Voice

By Tony DeLorger © 2014

Possibility plagues my waking moments,

because reality falls short of hope,

and the world, contrived and manipulated by narcissistic men,

follows a course so remote from we, the masses,

we cannot imagine what really ensues in this our world, our lifetime.

Peace is a word so few of us enjoy,

vast peoples of this earth live with death and persecution, poverty and starvation,

given little beyond hope that anything will ever change,

and when it does it is merely oppression of a different cloth,

leaders pursuing personal greed and power, not the welfare of the people.

The world has the resources to feed, clothe and maintain the health of its populations,

yet the divide between wealth and poverty grows larger and larger,

and the suffering of humanity, both mentally and physically, increases exponentially,

leaving leaders, who obtained power through the money brokers and world bankers,

and forced to maintain the Status Quo for their own political security.

When will a hero emerge, one with a real heart,

one prepared to face a new era of global peace and sharing resources,

to quash the suffering: the war, the famine and hatred,

and bring the potential of humanity to possibility,

so that we can live in peace, bound by love and mutual respect.

Who will be this hero?

Had to cool down eventually. I think there's rain expected in the south and south east from tomorrow too, that should help.

One can only hope John, but greed is a powerful foe and those with power don't want to lose it. But as long as there is hope there is possibility. Glad you liked it my friend. Take care. One more night of 30 degrees and a week of twenties and thirty...thank God!

Tony, this hub needs to be read by everyone. We have to find a hero, better yet heroes to make this world a better place, to care about the people of the world not put the economy as the top priority, crawling to the rich and powerful, pleasing company shareholders with record profits at the expense of feeding and housing the poor. Someone who will strive to stop war and suffering at all costs, someone determined to protect the earth and the environment. That person, those people must be out there. Voted up.
