A Small Gift

Updated on November 10, 2016

Time To Listen

A historic election

All the contraversy about both canidates

The nasty rumors to out right lies

What is the real truth ?

Who do you believe and trust ?

So many polls got it wrong

They predicted Hillary Rodman Clinton

As the forty fifth president of the United States

The first woman to hold the office

The new President Of The United States is voted in

On January twentieth we shall see Donald Trump sworn in

A new beginning as the transition of Barrack Obama to Donald Trumph

Watching the news

Seeing so many differences take light

New developments take place

Hoping and dreaming people will unite

In a common ground of peace and good

It is important that we look at our own lives

View what we have done good and what needs improvement

Work on making our lives better

Over the years I have watched other presidents come and go

The next day went like any other day

I still had to go to work

Come home and take care of my family

Keep trying to make our home look clean and beautiful

Fixing things that are broken and buy new things when only absolutely necessary

Many times making do with what we have

Other times buying at second hand shops something I would like or think we need

For half the price

Sure I heard about the economy sometimes good other times bad

Who the enemy was and how we going to fight them

Overall I might of noticed gas prices rising or my taxes going up

Food prices also increasing

Most things on the news didn't affect me

Riots to racial injustice

I was concerned to some degree

Many things seemed out of my control

From HMO free protests to save our planet

The ozone layer dispearing to world hunger

I would glance at the news and wonder

In my corner of the world

How do I make a difference

I was never a political person

So I wasn't out there holding signs and demanding change

I do notice health insurance and propane prices going up

There is not much I can do

We all need health insurance and it is there just in case

I have been blessed with good health

We conserve heat and electricity when we can

The old sayings waste not want not

Take care of things you have and they will last you a long time

I keep wondering where I fit into the puzzle of life

A one hundred thousand piece puzzle awaits

Please let me know what piece you will grab

A corner piece and take it safe

A middle piece and be daring

A straight piece that goes along the side

I go for one color and try to find more

Trying to figure out the picture

Many times I confuse myself

Today I am extremely lucky

I picked all the yellow pieces

I made a sunflower

May the sun flower on all of you

If I picked my favorite color red where would that of taken me ?

How about blue ?

Would it be a blue sky on the top or a blue ocean on the bottom

Mabye even a pair of old blue jeans hanging by two clothes pins on a clothes line

Back to my daily routine

Raking leaves for the umpteenth time

Every time I think that's the last of them

I am surprised to still see more

Bringing up a late load of laundry to be folded

Washing the dishes that I had left after supper

I chose to relax a bit andwatch a couple of our favorite sitcoms first

Calling it a day

Snuggling tight in bed next to my wife

Tomorrow will be here soon enough

Physical therapy at 6:40 only five hours from now

I feel good

Am I all better ?

Not quite yet

What the heck

Now what did I do

As I feel a twinge in the back of my neck

Gypsy Rose Lee I hope and pray there is a silver lining to all this. Right now the president elect sounds good and he seems more level headed and logical. I wonder could it work or once again what looks good is just silver plated and in time will tarnish. For now we all should give Donald Trump a chance and I pray his good actions will speak louder than his foul words. It's hard to erase when someone says things that hurt and affend people. Even if they do good they already made their bed now they have to lie in it. Thank you for all your beautiful comments. May each day shine new light to old problems. So we can learn and love life so much more. Have a great day.

And the Mad Hatter takes center stage. I sure hope this guy will behave himself and surprise us with helping the US rise to greatness again in the next four years.

A comprehensive view on a intrinsic life in a real world which concerns and affects us . I like your transition from social to private. The first is imposed on us, the other is inevitable to us. Done with a "storm of election" we are back to life of our reality of "daily bread". It's kind of tough, though a pleasurable otherwise would be a burden and we need to mantain focused on love and happiness to retain healthy, cheerful and above all appease existence. Isn't it so Michael ?!
