A Soak In The Tub

Updated on September 29, 2012

I took a soak in the tub today

A bath, you say?

Oh, this was no bath

No bubbles, no beads

No loofa, no sponge

Just water

Clear

Pure

Plain

Nothing added but me

I took a soak in the tub today

A bath, you say?

Oh, this was no bath

Nothing to be cleaned

No dirt to wash away

Just cares

Aches

Pains

Stress

Plagues of the day

I took a soak in the tub today

A bath, you say?

Oh, this was no bath

No candles lit

No music played

Just silence

Heat

Steam

Levity

Womb of comfort

I took a soak in the tub today

A bath, you say?

Oh, this was no bath

No bubbles, no beads

No dirt to wash away

Just a Tub

Water

Steam

Me

All cares soaked away

AudreyHowitt - this poem seems to have that effect.... I make time for a bath at least once a week. I think I would fall apart if I didn't.... thanks for the visit to my tub... xxx

Wayne - It is funny you should say that. I find that sometimes thinking about a nice long soak calms my mind and body almost as much. Almost. :)

Awesome! What a great hub and poem! Super , what a good reason for a bath- Just Because.

Oh a daily bath is what was given me

When I was two, or four, or three

      It seemed a chore

      Boy was it a bore

      But now that I'm older

      I couldn't wish for more!

So friend, lover, husband, wife , friend

      Draw me a bath,

And not just on my birthday or anniversary

But draw me a bath at least once a week!

      Or before me make love

So I will not only sigh but squeak!

      Thanks ....

ImKarn23 - LOL. I think all the baths in the world would never get that mind of your squeaky clean. I am in the same boat. And I consider that a good thing!:)

I do the same thing u do! Tea in the tub. Chocolate. I tried ice cream once. I don't reccomend it - melted way too fast.

Thanks for sharing. Means a lot to know you enjoyed it that much.

sometimes - i can't get home fast enough to jump in a hot tub and just....SIT...

      Mmmmmmmm.....Ohmmmmmmm...

my man was in a house with no bathtub and i couldn't stand it - he's now moved...lol..

(don't tell anyone, but - often - i'll sneak a piece of chocolate cake and a cuppa hot coffee into the tub with me - absolute heaven - and total decadence)..

(i'm NEVER dirty - other than my active little mind...haha)..

      sharing, D..
