A Story of Two Hubbers

Updated on August 24, 2011

Hubber One and Hubber Two

DISCLAIMER

Just in case: This hub is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to reality is strictly coincidental. The hubbers represented by the avatars have never met and have no reason to. While the avatars do represent real people, and this poem is about two hubbers, and hubbers are real people, this story has no basis in reality. This writer just thought the two avatars looked cute together, and entertained a silly fantasy about them. Also, there's that accolade you can get for welcoming new hubbers, and I thought it would be funny if everyone went to jynxart's profile page and encouraged him to get those hubs out! (will work for accolades!) NOTE: JYNXART is no longer active on HubPages and the link to his profile page has been removed.

Number Four

They lived happ'ly 'evermore.
They lived happ'ly 'evermore.

Dedicated to Mary

There once were two hubbers

Who hubbed all the time.

They hubbed so much

That they didn’t mind

When they lost their jobs

Along with their minds

And spent their nights,

thinking up rhymes.

The hubbers hubbed

As all hubbers do,

Out of a deep love

For something that’s true.

Hub and hub

and hub some more.

Tippy tap,

Tippy tap

Tippy tap more.

Hubber one and hubber two,

Each other never knew.

One in Jackson.

Two at Purdue.

There was little else to do,

But tippy tap

Tippy tap

All the night through.

Til one dark and stormy night they met,

Their avatars anyway,

On a page hosted by yet another

Lovely hubber

A hundred miles away from one,

And five hundred twenty from two.

Tippy tap

Tippy tap

All the night through.

When hubber three

Matched one and two

How could she ever have known

That two would become one,

And produce number four

And all would live happ’ly ‘evermore.

Tippy tap

Tippy tap

Tippy tap more

Tippy tap

Tippy tap

Tippy tap four!

I'm glad you're amused Tony! I think it would be science fiction first since I wrote about it before it happens - not to suggest that it will - then autobiographical. Perhaps just a foreshadowing.

Hi Tom. Yep. You're too late. Looks like it was over 19 months ago, although there was one additional entry 11 mos ago. So, technically you can still click the above link or click here http://lmmartin.hubpages.com/hub/Announcing-Hubpag and make an entry even though the contest is over:)

Hmmm. It occurs to me now that I may have misunderstood your intent, Mr Hellert. Perhaps, you are wanting to get in on the tippy tapping rather than the dark and stormy night contest. In that case, this hubber's heart belongs to JynxArt, even though JynxArt has tippy tapped away:(

The support checks are coming in pretty regularly now, so baby's daddy got a job! Art was his first love. Writing wasn't even a close second. I was a distant third. No. 4 is coloring on the walls! I can see the writing now! I am accepting donations on behalf of No. 4.
