A Thought That Means A Lot

Updated on April 17, 2013

Opening Up

Each day I go on thinking of so many things I want to do

Recently my mind and body was challanged

I don't know why but I sure know how

Making me feel just aweful

I have always been blessed at being very healthy

In thirty years I have only called in sick one day

I remember that day well

I couldn't even lift my head

If I don't work I don't get paid

So I convinced myself I don't get sick

Not today or ever

Well there is always an exception to the rule

Where as healthy as I may be

I took every waking hour and slept on my days off to do everything in my power

To get better

So I will say it with pride I almost never get sick

Feeling like my old self again

I am happy to report

Life is so much better standing up than laying down

For years I contributed my good health to

Believing in God who wants us all to be healthy

Eating right

Getting enough sleep to give my body rest

Even though sometimes only six hours a night

Taking a vitamin a day

Trying to get in some exercise every day

No matter what it is keep moving

Staying positive

Good genes from my parents don't hurt

Being able to live another day is nothing to sneeze about

So heres to good health and good thoughts

A place where all can share

Not just here but everywhere

Feeling ill is not just making you feel bad, but drives us insane too, so its great to celebrate good health, and managing to keep doing the work we love, nell

      Great hub, DREAMON!

      Voted UP and USEFUL.

Health is vital, and, I believe, being sick gives one a new perspective.

I've had, and recovered from, four surgeries, but I never get a head cold!

All I know is that I've learned a lot about the art of living from not feeling good.

You are correct. Life is so much better standing up than laying down.

I can also empathize with your statement there is so much you want to do.

Life is short. We have to do what we can to accomplish the do's!

      God bless, Sparklea :)

kidscrafts I know in a lot of jobs people get sick days , personal time and many holidays unfortunately not my job.It made me mentally and physically stronger and you have to go to work because people are counting on you.Thanx for reading and sharing. I am feeling on top of the world or at least standing tall without swaying or being sick at all. Have a fantastic night.

The mind is a powerful thing Dream On! It's quite an incentive to not being paid if you don't work! I am glad that you are feeling better now!
