A Visit to the Zoo

Updated on September 11, 2018

As we all take our stroll throughout the local Zoo,

Such a grand variety of animal life seen, to view.

From old Africa, Asia, a far more Northerly clime,

The creatures represent the best, are so sublime.

Reds, yellows, blacks, whites, skins of every hue,

Feathers, hides, leather shells, all tones to imbue.

Mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, all beautiful to see.

Born of this planet, the finest earth, each life to be.

The very small and the greatest of their sizes,

Each one has a special place that it so prizes.

Living among the forests' trees, in the ground,

Lakes and oceans, in a world all life to abound.

Our God, Creator, of his infinite wisdom to make,

All precious life on this planet, never do we take.

He alone decides when is the right time to come,

Souls of a blessed one, in death, of its life's sum.

That time when some visitors come to this, our world,

As if by some great meteor from space were all hurled.

What might they just see when they arrive here at last,

Last moment of our existence, as a pollutant was cast?

Who are these strange beings, they certainly would say,

Care only about a few rich ones, as the rest cannot stay.

Their message that they may wish to share, now too late,

For this once beautiful planet mankind destroyed, its fate.

Only the wild have a chance in their environment.
Only the wild have a chance in their environment.

There will be only a few years left to undo the terrible pollution. We must say our prayers that things will change for the best. Many blessings my friend. whonu

We're not doing a great job of preserving our world, are we? How awful, for example, that the elephant is so threatened, because of man's greed. I despair. Governments need to do so much more themselves too, instead of just telling us to do it, preaching to us all.

Strange that no one ever mentions the pollution of the atmosphere caused by planes; I wonder why?!

      Well done, whonu!
