A Voice From Heaven

A Voice From Heaven
A Voice From Heaven

Sometimes in life when we find our backs against the wall and no where to turn
Sometimes we try our best to move forward but only to find our efforts being burnt
Sometimes we put our all in trust, and trust disappoints us and leaves us with regret
Sometimes we love unconditionally, but love cuts us deeply, making us never to forget
We look to our peers for a hug, a little advice, just a little something to sooth our aching mind
We hope to hear beautiful words, something encouraging and kind
Our hearts tremble, as we look deep within this world
Hoping to find that spark to keep us going, hoping to hear those encouraging words
But as we step, we see no changes
Still, bitterness surrounds us, selfishness is the entity that fills all places

Then, then i stand still, place my hands on my forehead and bow down my head
What a bitter world i thought, people busy like bees, no love to show, hustling to make bread
People bouncing off my shoulders, some shouting unkind things
While i stood in the middle of the walkway, angry, frustrated, no longer wishing to exist
Then i heard a voice from the clouds, it said "There is better to come" then i began to wonder, what did i miss?
I see no effort in people caring for the human race as animals do their own
I see crime, i see murder, i see rape, i see babies left to be alone
What better do you speak of, tell me voice from heaven?
Do you see how many children are dieing, do you see how many are begging?
I stood there for a minute, i heard no reply
Then the voice said mildly, "It's the Nature of life"
My emotions were soaring as tears ran down my bony cheeks
Then i stepped off, knowing life has beaten me, accepting my defeat

But tomorrow i will win at life
Tomorrow i will overcome
Tomorrow i will not be defeated

Life my friends is a journey

You will encounter stops, obstacles to get over

These obstacles comes as job loss, loss love, loss loved one, loss opportunities

But at the times when you are most weak, it is at that same time you are becoming stronger

Life breaks us, molds us, it makes us who we are today

So live life, accept life, make the best of life, but seek a better life, always

Hi eric, We should always make ourselves happy. But we cannot forget the suffering many still endure. As human, we are all connected.

Truly wonderful. The other day a chap asked "what the hell are you so happy about?" I had to stop and remember some stuff to be bummed out about - there was plenty.

What a lovely, empowering poem. Yes, our prayers are heard, and answered, too, although not always in the way or in the time that we expect. However, God's timing is perfect and we may not need to wait until tomorrow, but begin today.

This was so inspiring to read your thoughts/ words. Sometimes when we're down the most, we stop to pray and see the light more clearly. With so much evil in the world, it's good to know we have someone who listens to our prayers.

      Peace my friend..
