A Way Through Tears

Updated on February 27, 2012

In seeing those we covet most

laying as we never knew

we rail against that which altered life

removing from our societies

a missing link to us

We face our fate

not seeing the passing

but on the face of the fallen

a strangeness there

noting that in falling

something fell out

that which remains is missing a spark

tis natural to wonder where it went

or if being snuffed out

a candle in the wind

young or old

it hardly matters

though in the former one more charge is leveled

shouting at the universe at the injustic

why the living should be older then the dead

Physics teaches continuity

that nothing ever ceases to exist

yet if that were so

why would those who changed and were not distroyed

not returning to fill the void

is there so much more they see now?

so much to do that excludes our felicity?

Would they forget us so easily?

now to the end of rationality we come

to the place where there are no sane answers

the doctrines of man that have polluted any hard evidence

The sacred documents most respected

tainted by the hands of evil

histories decay

our loss more poinient

say as I could many things

things i know

and from whence I come

that which I am

it wouldn't matter.

But this I say

there is more

they who have left cheer us on to find it

joining them in the self same search

a yearning to live again

without the attending problems

that caused them to leave this life

in places where they happily wait

to watch us follow them

and enter into that self same state of grace.
