A Writer's Dilemma

Updated on May 26, 2014

The Greatest Struggle Today

We all know by now that we live in a very fast paced world. There are always a million things going on and a million more that we must do on a constant basis. This way of life leaves little time for the things we are passionate about.

Writing like any art takes time to do. Those who can knock out tens of pages in a day, probably realize when reading the work over that it is not their best. Writing can't be rushed. Each story, each chapter has its own time table. A story will tell you when it is done. You can't try to force it.

Those who take their writing seriously know that each story you write becomes like your child. This is a major issue I have found with writing my novels. This especially becomes an issue when you are working on multiple stories.

Life barely allows time for me to work on one but to work on them all would require full time, total commitment. Not an option for an aspiring writer (i.e. one who has not been publishing yet). Money is necessary for life, and to make money requires alot of time these days.

After struggling with not being able to work on all of them makes me feel like I am neglecting my children.

I trust I am not the only one who struggles with this.

There is just not enough time in the day!
