A child i was...

Updated on June 2, 2014

will be back!

you're unique!

A child

innocent I was

and ignorant of man’s pride and prowess

holding the endearing hands

of my dear father

whose pride I was,

trotting behind my bossy brother,

and quickly pacing with

my mother’s steps,

Would lift my longing eyes

to meet my dad’s,

on beholding

a white ambassador –

a family figure,

a god-mother,

it was for me –

a bond,

an image,

an icon,

knitting well a family

together –

and wheeling

briskly on

thin-carred roads

those old days!

Dad am sorry

to have caused you

desperate trouble,

rather embarrassment,

borne out of

sheer ignorance…

Too many models

flaunting with

sizes and shapes

now on the run,

my ambassador,

a model turned old,

goes into oblivion…

An Indian ambassador,

true to your name,

need to

roll down on roads

for my sake,

‘cos I love you

even more,

and ever more!

Children have emotions too. Good lines.
