A dewdrop

Updated on September 15, 2011

Glistening on the morning grass

Tiny and shiny like looking glass

The mighty dewdrop sits so still

Wishing it was upon yon window sill

A gentle morning breeze wafts the drop

Teetering on the edge it starts to drop

Upon the back of a gopher so bold

The dewdrop holds on and begins to go

Waddling through the field so tall

The gopher appears to be so small

But smaller still upon his back

The dewdrop does still relax

Shaking his fur so viciously

The drop flies so heroically

Up in the air, glistening and shining

The spray of water as if the air tis crying

His destination is so very clear

The window is so very near

Inches away, the dewdrop shouts with glee

Landing on the window finally free

Looking over the fields so green

The animals both fat and lean

The dewdrop is moved by such beauty

Excitment tis making him a bit loopy

The morning sun climbs higher in the sky

Its almost time for the birds to fly

The dewdrop looks and wishes hard

He was on the back of a flying bird

But upon his window he sits so calm

And enjoys the suns rays, all morning long.

I love your creativity and ability to putting human qualities to non-human form such as dew drops. It makes me look at them in a whole different light!

Fall is here and soon winter will knock our doors, when dews would be visible. Wonderful poem.
