Come you for a hearty chat!

Updated on April 21, 2015

It may be your choice

to listen or not to listen;

I care not,

I'm keen on having

a hearty chat with you;

you may or may not like,

I care not,

for it is meant only for your ears!

Nostalgic become I

of the endearing past;

the words -

beautiful, pretty, awesome, lovely, terrific -

resound your voice,

and drive me

to the mirror still!

The stare, the feel,

the proximity and the promise

You know something?

I got to know I was pretty

only by your description!

I enjoyed my voice

when it sounded

like melody to you!

I rediscovered myself

only through your admiration!

Whither is she?

You see her not!

The she in me has changed

into a dull, despicable dame,

I suppose!

I remain the same!

My mirror still appreciates my beauty!

How come you are not able to?

Has the thread of love

been snapped in the midst?

A knot can rectify the split!

it requires a heart to amend

the mishaps!

If you have been attentive

to my incessant chatter,

Let us pull the strings together!

      Loved your poem. I often have a chat with my inner self just to be sure that me, myself and I are still best friends.

      While we seem to change on the outside, it's good if we can change on the inside as well as we age and become wiser and more patient. Sometimes we need to take ourselves in hand and have a hearty chat to ourselves to try to improve and have a more positive attitude to life. An interesting and challenging poem.

      All of us change in outward appearances though the years but inside we often remain the same. Those who truly love us can see through the changes.

      Beautiful chat, expressed poignantly. So often we go unheard but your words have said a lot to the listening ear. Love it! Voted up, beautiful, and interesting.
