A Lump of Coal

Updated on June 18, 2013

The cold rain fell...
like morning drops of dew
I saw you there...
I so... wanted you

Just one look from...
your soft blue eyes
my heart awoke ...my soul
it began to slowly rise

The sun broke through ..
the birds..... they did sing
of feelings that pierced ..
it felt like a bee's sting

Sweet opened petals of
Flowers, honey's... dew
Gently call to me now ...
I will go with you

Please plant me deep....
squeeze my colorless soul
Make a shiny diamond ...
from a lump of coal

The lump of coal does become a beautiful diamon through time. Hidden in the arms of love it has the chance to perfect itself. Nicely done.

Thank You Vincent, your words help me to realize that one poem to the next and to always try to make each one count. But every once in a while, we find in that bag of rocks we carry , a shiny Diamond.

We are all a chunk of coal, some of us polish up to become shining diamonds, many of us stay rough around the edges and dark remains our soul. I have polished up from time to time, but slipped back to the color of coal. Oh to be rich like a diamond, always sparkling uder the light instead of being scrutinized and buried deep like a lump of coal. I felt your verse my poet, bravo well done. Voted up and shared.
