A poem, An unbelievable view

Updated on February 28, 2017
always exploring profile image

I am a writer of poetry and fiction. I especially love flash fiction. My name is Ruby, and I live in Southern Illinois. I am a retired R.N.

When I awoke, I was laying across my bed

Sitting alone on top of a faraway mountain

Looking toward the Heavens in outerspace

I see visions of beauty

Lights glimmering in the distance

A beacon calling me

Me feeling no resistance

As I gently slide into the abyss

I feel joy and start to wish

Twinkle twinkle little star

How I wonder how far away you are?

Then I look and see sparks of lightning

Crack, pop, funny, I'm not afraid

The vision is breath-taking

Clouds swirling, Angels singing a sweet serenade

Veil lifted, eyes' seeing

Gods' Heaven vividly displayed

Then I quietly step back onto the mountains' jagged edge

A shade is slowly closing

As I look and see a rainbow shining on the cliffs' ledge

When I awoke, I was laying across my bed

Remembering the visions as my mind thrust ahead

Was I dreaming? It seemed so very real

I'm in awe. A dream took me away

To feel and reveal

The beauty on the other side

I now feel blissful

And filled with joyful pride

How I journeyed into this venture

I haven't a clue

I can only relate

It was an unbelievable view

What a wonderful hub Ruby;I think you have worked your way upwards and onwards since I have been away.

      Each word spot on;

Sometimes we have to take a few steps backwards to see what we have with a clear eye and mind. In my few months away I have returned to find beauty, loving, compassion and such a growth in each writer.

You stated in one of your comments on my work saying that I'd said I'd never leave again because I had promised and i never break a promise. This was so cherished Ruby and has settles deeply cushioned in my heart ;and you are so right I will never lie to you or anyone else. returning to HubPages is indeed like returning home. A poem where these is not cruelty, abuse, pain, sadness and the mental pain the one where there are no scars to be seen but the scars lie deep and are far more damaging than these others.

Oh yes I am HOME now Ruby and home to stay!!

Lots of love and hugs all for you Ruby from my little corner of Wales.

      Eddy.

What a wonderful view from where I sit, truly brilliant and magnificent as only always exploring can describe. I felt the majesty of the range, the clean fresh air on my face and the softness of the billowing clouds swirling by. Beautiful done, Bravo..loved it.

BTW Cagsil, name calling is a two edged sword, a mirror reflecting back to the viewer. Even if he is Gay, so what, there are many beautiful gay people in this world and I know a few of them and call them friends. I am actually surprised my sweet AE even left your comment up, I would have deleted it. Shame on you.

I found this poem to be from one who also has a wild imagination, who is not afraid to explore that which is within. Not one of fear, or anything else. But as you share...a minds vision from that of a painting or picture and even a photo. I find it amazing what our minds conjur up when we allow them to run wild and in all directions, don't you always? : ) Great poem. I really like it, because you are sharing what you saw through the picture.
