The seer ......poetry

Updated on October 7, 2015

To spend a life in self exile a complicated desire
knowing perhaps always the way it will end
but alas'
there is simply no way it can work
might as well keep a love as a friend

Betting on a smile and a laugh all the while
I could see right through
seems the introspection pays off too
I'll see the real you

"Watch out for the quiet ones "
as a boy hearing that so very often
and yet it's hell to see inside of most everyone
you'd think the heart might soften

To never meet anyone who was but an image
of all love and somehow see clearer
or of touch or kind words
or was love but a mirror

Clairvoyant's but a term there's just no way
seeing the way through
but still once in a while I look in a mirror
and all I see is you

In the mirror it's my eye's that stand out
I'm afraid they all saw something
whoever she was she knew and stayed away
all of that for nothing

Sometimes I sit still and concentrate on visualizing looking into my eyes. Totally being outside myself looking into my big browns to see what I see in there. For some unknown reason I see the kindness there, even when I don't feel it. So I imagine if we look we can see it in other's eyes as well.

This is so deep! Wouldn't it be great if we could know what people are really thinking? I guess sometimes it's best not to know. I like this, it made me think and wonder about what I see when I look into the mirror.

Introspective sadness and loneliness and want, all beautifully expressed. Nice contemplation. Love it. Two thumbs up.
