A trio of lymericks on the theme of birthdays

Updated on December 13, 2012

A Mother's Party

There once was a mother whose party

Had food that was overly hearty.

She ate too much cake,

and gained lots of weight,

Then lost it all rowing to Bali.

The Huge Present

There once was a present so huge

That it came off as terribly crude.

The host was embarrassed,

and looked dreadfully harassed,

I thought the the gift miserably rude!

On The Wrapping of The Gift

A present that's carefully wrapped,

is protected from unruly taps.

Then on further travels,

it never unravels,

and ends up with unwanted cracks.

Thank you RBJ33 and Miscellanea - yes writing limericks is a one of the more enjoyable forms of poetry to write. The rhythm is just so pleasing!

Thanks midget38 - I'm glad my silly rhyming caused some jollity. I think I ought to do some seasonal christmas ones next.

Seasonal Christmas limericks would amuse us I am sure. I have been wrapping gifts all morning...I certainly hope that mine are not rude or crude or ostentatious. One is VERY large...it is a grill...and o, my, the box is H U G E. Ostentatious...I guess. This limerick was just for me.

Enjoyed the smiles. Thanks for sharing. :) ps
