AH CHRIST: A POEM

Updated on September 16, 2014

Ah Christ! How sweet ‘tis to love thee

To weep and wane for thee

To feel my very soul filled

And undying love instilled

To wince at every unshed tear

At the cost you paid, so dear

To seek refuge in every shadow

And melt like waxing tallow

With the lucid sky above

Vast, unbroken like thy love

And to feel the scorch of the midday sun

The same as that which fell on the Sun

And quietly abiding, awaiting thee

As men would a royal decree

To sigh and treasure the passing hours

Spent with the wielder of all powers

To know that you love me

As quietly, strongly as I love thee

Beautiful. This imparts a sense of serenity, safety and an abiding strength of faith. Well done.

Thank you very much Jodah. You said that my words were old-fashioned, they are so for we know that our Lord, Christ never changes but is the same for all the ages. God bless you. Thank you again for your kind words.
