A Fisherman’s Tail (limerick)

Updated on January 29, 2015

She told of a fish that she caught

And all of its tricks which she fought

Its perils and slings

The constant mood swings

And all of the things I was taught

      Ahem! "tail"?? You're so sly.

Oh, how fun, Martin! I caught one wonderful trophy bass in my life, the first time I tried casting a bait. Then I bragged about it every chance I got when I was either catching nothing with my lovely rod, line & clever casts with which George supplied me ; - - or when simply ignoring fishing in progress altogether while sitting in the back of the boat writing poetry or sketching the lake instead! Fun memories and a great limerick - of course!

Hang in there, 'fish,' and try to stay plucky -

From the looks of the photo, you got lucky!
