A Kiss She Left Behind (poem)

Updated on September 22, 2014

I found a kiss she left behind

Within the shadows of my mind

When moments were a bit more kind

And passion were much less resigned

-

What fruitless lie then blinded me

Enshroud me so I couldn’t see

The future of such destiny

And love will need a place to flee

-

In sorrow swimming here behind

In this the truth I didn’t see

The echoes of my destiny

Here in a world that’s so resigned

-

Another time some other me

When heart would rule the waves off mind

Where love held hope a softer kind

So to her arms again I flee

-

To love her is my soul resigned

And with her all is far more kind

This treasure I shall keep in mind

This gentle kiss she left behind
