A Lover And A Friend (poem)

Updated on December 17, 2016

I hoped my heart would find you once again

To fashion gentle passion with the moon

To dance awhile to music set here in

And drift with stars atop love’s grand lagoon

Your fragrant scent the jasmine of my soul

Sets dreams to wishes playing in the light

A bridge across the sky I’d pay the toll

To be within the sight of my delight

Ignited in my mind just now those eyes

They burn through shadows searching for the truth

Not even midnight can disguise the sighs

The sound that love creates when in its youth

Forgive my rambling hope with you again

So good to have a lover and a friend

Music only
