A Person Died Today (Poem)

Updated on September 17, 2017

He died today twas no one there

And not a sole his cross to bear

Alone forgotten by his heirs

This silent child without a care

No one to weep or mourn his loss

No glimpse or hint of memories lost

No rose nor any idol gloss

Into a fire this thing we tossed

To see to feel a life thus earned

To see the long forgotten urn

To this I pray reflections churn

Into his pyre I too might burn

I wipe my hands and walk away

It was not me who died that day

If so are those will proudly say

That’s Martin Kloess who came this way

And some will weep and some will cry

And others dance as I go by

And some may take a chance to try

And some may take a comfort sigh

A lesson if you did not know

To take your life and make it glow

My life’s a seed for you to sow

And in the end your light will flow

Music only

Much to reflect on and a reminder to live with purpose.

Hey Martin, thanks for sharing. This is the society that we live in. However, you made an extraordinary contribution about this poor soul. The poem was very touching. Be blessed!
