A Prisoner (poem)

Updated on May 9, 2013

I’m lost so lost a prisoner am I

Delighting in the realms that hold me in

Just waiting for a moment to begin

And kiss the things I thought I knew goodbye

-

Aware somewhere there rests a hidden key

To every treasure locked up in my mind

The timeless pleasure only lovers find

Beyond a heaven’s star-swept melody

-

I see a sea of darkness and despair

A doubtful past which yearns to breath the light

Two arms to trust amid the cold bleak night

To care to share to bear I see it there

-

Profound I found her stare held prison’s prize

A passage that laid hidden in her eyes

Mhatter.. I am in love with this beautiful poem and music.. You outdid yourself my friend.. you amaze me..

She sees beauty in his soul

she feels the purity of the fallen rain

      with honeysuckles and daffofils

      feeling the breeze

of the kiss of the dew

      of lips from you!

Sad. I can relate to this stanza.. as so many I speak to can as well. "I see a sea of darkness and despair

A doubtful past which yearns to breath the light

Two arms to trust amid the cold bleak night

To care to share to bear I see it there".

I wish what rcrumple said was true, but it takes 2 to desire... and sometimes, if not most times? it's only 1 that does. Nice poem.

The quest for love has many roads. Where it's found lies in what's desired.

      Great Job!
