Admonished

Updated on November 18, 2012

Admonished by

a voice of sanity

unlimited in its origin

I protested with

shame-faced vanity

and crawled beneath my skin

Diseased by this poisonous denial

A dissolute life

eluded my Will

In learning my sin

was venial

I struggled with it still

The venerable truths within me

have led me to regret

the venomous bites of chicanery

In the faces of lies I've met

This ignorance is all I've known

In my life of confrontation

by His Will I pray to grow

Through the voice of my creation.
