After All (poem)

Updated on May 7, 2017

And after all that time it comes to this

Soft memories return to say goodbye

And tears appear without a reason why

A life of dreams now lightens this abyss

Is it for Joy or sadness that I cry

Was there a single kiss I did dismiss

Or precious thought I didn’t reminisce

And after all that time I sit and sigh

And so it seems my life returns to dreams

There with the morning brings another light

While here we are eternally to stay

For so it seems we join the endless streams

Of lovers who are passing into night

And after all that time what’s left to say

Nostalgia. I can empathise with the sentiments. The video of young love is lovely.Makes an old lady wistful
