Eternal Love

All-consuming Love, Thou sacred fire, burning

Bright, brighter, brightest, inside my heart.

Showering your constant flow of Grace

Into a wretch like me. Who can equal You,

O Source of all auspiciousness?

How can I fathom Your infinite mercy?

Without deserving Thy surrendered Will,

Thou bestowest it;

When I offend Thee not, it seems not there.

All-consuming Love, in Your embodied form.

You are an unparalleled sweetness-smile.

You are the Root; Foundation; Dearest ...

Not because You're omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent,

But because You're all Love.

O Unmanifest, some say that Thy embodiment,

Is greater than You. Still, O wise and munificient One,

Even the Manifest Itself, to me, is also Thee.

You are the very Breath of being.

All-consuming Love, do listen to my heart's cry;

Forgive my sorrows, and

Enfold me tenderly in Thy sheltering arms.

Push forward my sweet sacrifice for Thy loving cause.

And may Thy victory-banner,

Fly steadfastly amidst the turmoil of earthy strife.

Ever-endearing Beloved, You are my all.

Thou blessed in human form!!

The road is long, and I am not fleet of pace.

Remember, from Thy perpetual realm,

Thy loving feet I much adore.

And should a rug be sort for nestling your tender sole,

May I be truly free and merge in Thee. - Manatita 25/12/03.

Rumi and Love

A consuming Love

Do you feel this Love

Very beautiful and inspirational. God's love for man. We disappoint God, but his love is always there for us. Thanks so much for reminding us of this.

      A very sincere comment:

"Life's perfection-road is very long, but the journey is richly rewarding."- Sri Chinmoy, a 20-21st century Seer-visionary. Thank you, my brother. I follow you as a positive person.

      Thank You, Quirinus.

Yes, our Lord can do anything and indeed does all, or else the Beloved would not be omnipotent. So yes, She is the Mother, too. Again, The Absolute is beyond description. All the saints and seers have said this.

I like our Beloved as the Mother and Father and more ... I suspect that you do, too. The Christ loved the Father aspect, while in India they generally love the Mother aspect. Our Lord is not bound by rules.

So good to hear from you. I appreciate your invaluable addition to these beautiful interpretations. God bless.

It's such a beautiful prayer, Manatita! You were able to engage your audience such that they had their own creative interpretation of the ideas in the poem, which all good poetry does.

One angle, which I gleaned was to interpret the poetry as our relationship to the Great Mother, which is described in Taoist teachings. Thanks for sharing. Voted up!

      Thank you.

My life itself is a prayer, and most of my hubs are aesthetic or esoteric experiences. I am by nature very devotional. Have you read A Song to My Beloved or the Eulogy to my Mom. Stay healthy and abundant. Blessings ...

Not just a lovely poem but a lovely prayer. "Enfold me tenderly in Thy sheltering arms" ... a prayer we all pray. Nicely done my friend.

Appreciated. I see that you are a veteran in more ways than one. You will know, of course, that what you are doing for others, is a mature and selfless approach, and one worthy of commendation. Let us remain in the heart of our Lord. Keep smiling.
