All Was Still, All Was Silent ( Part 2 )

Updated on March 6, 2011

...

The balance of nature

    ruptures in a storm

of shuddering earth,

    as heat expels

out of the cracks,

        melting the sky

Thunderous blasts

     echo across the landscape,

as the horizon ignites

  into unknown shades

              of ancient horrors

     Shadows collide

with crimson lightning,

forming a pulsing aura

         powered by rage

that lay long dormant,

    caged against will

within sorcerers’ spells

     and incantation

The chains shatter

      with unspeakable force,

  propelling burning metal

                into the atmosphere,

   as the beast’s restraints

       fall away into hell.

Swirling mixtures

     of static and flame

   erupt from the crater,

as wings that were bound

    forever and a day

          raise the body of

a nightmare in the flesh

        above the crumbling ground

The city sleeps.

       Oblivion awaits...

Fantastic work, sir. You always seem to find a way to put the impending doom of the world into words with amazing flourish and finesse. Breathtaking!

I just watched the very graphic and exciting movie King Kong made in 2005 it won Oscars for sound and visual effects. The breaking of chains as KONG was teased with a look alike Ann and he went berserk and tore away the chains that bound him like they were ribbons.

Your work here has all the imagery of Hell breaking loose and the demon from Hell is to appear on earth and cause massive destruction. I await with baited breath Chapter 3 very well done, you have my full attention. Keep writing.
