All about Up and Down

Updated on April 8, 2012

Up Up and Away

Up is up
Up is up
Sky diver coming down
Sky diver coming down

Up is up

Up is up

Down is down

Going up is usually good

Going down

Often brings a frown

Cups get filled up

But as its sipped

The beverage goes down

Statistics go up,

Sometimes go down

People grow up

At night,

Many stay up

Clothes get washed;

And should be put up

Pictures must be hung up

But wrongly hung

Pictures fall down

And breakup

Resulting in a cleanup

Climbing a mountain

You go up

Leaving, you go down

Balloons go up
Balloons go up
Elevators go up and down
Elevators go up and down

Come on down

Funny are clowns

But for some

They frown

There was a movie called

“Up”

It actually went down

The hype was all blown up

Leaving many,

Not wanting close-ups

There is upstairs,

Downstairs;

Uptown and downtown

Sky, clouds and space

Are up

Valleys, rivers and streams

Are down

Psychologists regularly say,

“Our time is up”

On the “The Price is Right”,

It’s “Come on down”

On HubPages,

Hubs are voted up

Or voted down

Scores go up

And scores go down

Shuttle launch

Live Rocket Launch Survey

Have you ever seen a Live Rocket or Shuttle launch?

See results

Rockets go up

Before rockets go up

The clock always,

Counts down

Hot air balloons,

Blimps and planes

Go up

But in order to land

They must come down

Elevators go up

But also go down

People that gossip

Bring others down

Those who encourage,

Build others up

One thing is certain

As we close this curtain

Of up and down

Either adjective or verb;

Some use as a noun

This poem

Completely a blurb

But all in all,

I make this call;

Up is still up

And down is still down

GREAT READ!! Entertaining, had alot to say! Voted up, useful and interesting! The ups and the downs of life ...people may not think much about it, but I prefer UP. I have learned throughout my life that most often, when I try to bring a person who is consistently "down" out of it...I attempt to bring the person UP, that, eventually, that person brings me DOWN. Some people just don't want to go up, and prefer to be down. Not being critical, that is just the way it is. I have also learned that ACTION ABSORBS ANXIETY. You said SO MUCH with so few word! THANK YOU! Blessings, Sparklea :)

Thanks teaches12345. This was kind of a last minute fun project to reach 35 Hubs and I find the nonsensical poetry relaxing away from what I normally write. Thanks so much for taking time to read, comment, vote and share. Lee

Reminds me of a story that could only happen in Ireland:

A lady phones her best friend Sadie: 'Are in you in, Sadie?'

Sadie says: 'I'm in and I'm up but I'm not down'.

      Think about it!

Another great Hub, Lee - thank you, and voted UP (of course!).
