Already, a Poem

Updated on May 6, 2013

Already

Already, I lay down for you.

and listen to your playlist;

watch your shows.

never get a word in

edgewise.

The whirlwind showed up.

mildly illegal, I think...

Chaos, devil driven,

sex and smoking and...

whatever he can get

away with....

I'm already lost...

a puff of smoke is

the way my soul was,

drifting away on the

lazy air...

all the careful sober thoughts

look like children's toys..

God is on call waiting,

until I find enough fear

to stop this train;

I tried, people. I'm falling-

and all these goals

are buried under soft lies.

Pray for me, here and now!

In unison!

he's gone for a while...

while I try to

gather my mind,

gather my skirts

and flee...

Please, God!

Be with Me...

Lily, with you. It snowed here in the midwest this week, it did, it did. I said more than ahggg. Saw two inches of it on the deck and said, "really?"

Nice weaving of language, again, as usual. Keep writing. Shed old, embrace you.

There's that easy, natural flow of language that (I think) simply comes our of your pores and always seems so right,

as you know, I don't go down the God road, but that certainly doesn't mean I'm insensitive to the emotion you're conveying so wel here

Gosh, I make it sound like I'm smoking crack. Nope. Nope. Never! Just not used to sex, and I know I shouldn't be drinking. At all. lily
