American Story ( a song from the Heart and soul)

Updated on August 1, 2016
The oldest story of our home of glory...
The oldest story of our home of glory...

There's a great story of this land, and of all our people, tried and true,

Of how we got our start, then to fly our flag, the red, the white and blue.

The oppressed had a mighty revolution, in search of freedom, its relief,

Escaping such wrongful treatment, unfair laws, and all the times of grief.

Refrain:

Our grandest story of our people, all standing strong together, side by side,

the greatest fight for freedom, and courage found, in our hearts to reside.

A story of suffering, to overcome, Americans, together shall turn the tide.

America, the greatest country on earth...
America, the greatest country on earth...

The hands of the common people, their blood, their sweat and the tears,

Have fostered hope and caring for us all, as this done, over all the years.

This story of a nation, to rise at freedom's call, and facing foes without fear,

How we've defended the poorest and meek, protecting our country, so dear.

refrain:

Our grandest story of our people, all standing strong together, side by side,

The greatest fight for freedom and courage found, in our hearts to reside.

A story of suffering, to overcome, Americans, together shall turn the tide.

courage found to go on...
courage found to go on...

In the plants and fields around this nation, striving hard, walking hand in hand,

Represent the strength, the determination, only a working man can understand.

The family to come first, before the rest, then paying bills, their children to teach,

Such spirits held inside, in strongest hearts to abide, to grasp beyond their reach.

Refrain:

The grandest story of our people, all standing strong together, side by side,

The greatest fight for freedom and courage found, in our hearts to reside.

A story of suffering to overcome, Americans, together, shall turn the tide.

Our spirits to carry us onward...
Our spirits to carry us onward...

We've fought in the wars around this globe, seeking justice, the freedoms for all,

Across the seas, on foreign shores, old glory has flown, our flag shall never fall.

We take in immigrants all seeking homes, those from every nation of this world,

Our land of the free, the torch of Liberty, in welcoming arms, with our flag unfurled.

Refrain:

The grandest story of our people, all standing strong together, side by side,

The greatest fight for freedom, and courage found, in our hearts to reside.

A story of suffering to overcome, Americans, together shall turn the tide.

I think every nation has an 'ideal' to live up to, and it's great when we do.

Here's hoping that one day soon America will remember what it means to be the 'Land of the free, and refuge of the Brave'

This is beautiful! We are a nation of proud immigrants. We all came here from somewhere else. Let us welcome all who want to come for a better life. This piece could be a song...

Your patriotism shines through. Wonderful poetry. Makes me feel pride about my homeland the U.S.A. Let's hope things can turn around for the better.
