An Alpine Ramble High Above Crested Butte (poem)

Updated on August 10, 2016

An Alpine Ramble High

Above Crested Butte

We hop on a chairlift

to hum above bike trails

cris-crossing open slopes

full of flowers and bordered

by spruce forests that scent

the air as we rise higher

toward blue Colorado sky.

At last we walk off the lift

to take a magical trail so

far above Crested Butte

encircled by snow-capped

peaks with alpine flowers

at our feet and huge smiles

on my families' faces as they

stare in wonder at it all.

Thank you, Gypsy Rose Lee--it's great for a grandfather to be able to enjoy his grandkids in such a country!

I've been to Colorado four times in my life and absolutely loved it there. Always wanted to live there and who knows, maybe someday. This poem made me wish for cool nights and sunny days in the gorgeous mountains of Colorado!

I am perturbed in that I received no notice of your posting this hub and I have followed you for some time. It seems that rarely do I get notices of newly published hubs from those I follow.

Hubpages make this right!!! Fix it!!

Thank you Mr. Archer, I go to the big H each time after I write a hub, so not sure what's happening.
