An Especially Stupid Pastime

Updated on December 26, 2010

Thought as you might

the human heart a gas to peer....

It costs more then its worth...

you see yourself through their eyes...

then cant help but know its true...

cant always be kind...

the truth too painful to keep cheer...

When you want to be pleasant you sound insincere...

be grateful my friends your blind and dumb...

incapable of communicating with the heart undone...

that the secrets of others isn't easy to know...

the things they kept from you might be quite a blow...

and then there is seeing clearly...

your eyes still distort...

you can only read what you can understand...

then your mind can contort...

making you try to make sense of a world gone wrong...

realizing that the problem is you all along...

don't bother opening the mind...

your mind might fall out...

we are separate from each other for a purpose have no doubt...

be content to sympathize, maybe empathize if you can...

your sentiments a sham but devout....

ringing true out of ignorance...

nothing shocking to know or say...

take my word its better that way...

people aren't so mysterious you see...

but to see them you must know yourself...

that is the fee...

you can't ever lie...

you must seek out the truth...

you must always be honorable...

faithful and just...

because if you don't you will burst...

to see others that way is to be in a fun house that cant lie...

they don't know how...

your not supposed to know what they hide.

I love the line, "don't bother opening the mind you might fall out". What an interesting take on life once again, Jaggedfrost, and how many of us out there truly know themselves, or even want to. I agree with Dave, beautifully written.

My friends I am enlivened by your commentary. It was just what I needed today.

      Beautiful, and rather sad.

      Thank you, as always.
