An Irish Tale- Poem by Rebecca Wood

An Irish Tale
I wrote this poem recently after falling in love with my Irish background. I might not be from Ireland but I have always loved the thought that my heritage came from such a beautiful strong hearted place. After I looked into my heritage I found so many common qualities of the Irish that I fall into. I am also part Native American but I haven't gotten that far. I suggest everyone should be in touch with there background. It could mean a big deal to you if you found out.
The wind danced across the grassy hills
Just as they did
The waves clapped against the rocky cliffs
Just as their hands did
The thunder roared across the sky
Just as thie drums did
The rain poured down
Just as their tears did
The sun gave warmth to the land
Just as their hearts did
Nature gave them music
And the Irishmen gave a dance
