An Open Book of My Life

Updated on April 12, 2014
Like out words, A butterfly is free.
Like out words, A butterfly is free.
Breath of life in every flower.
Breath of life in every flower.
Hear the waters playing.
Hear the waters playing.
Perceive the best of nature that's given.
Perceive the best of nature that's given.
Give your best and pass it on.
Give your best and pass it on.

My life is like an open book, expressed best in my poetry,

In every line of those rhyming words, I reveal the best of me.

My early years, to the days of now, I'm sharing times of glee,

The words I write, and of fond times had, all for you is free.

Live this life for now my friends, for tomorrow is yet to come,

Chase the best dreams that you've had, rejoice in their sum.

Put your worries out of mind, and then think only of the best,

Our lives will run as each is meant, goodness saves the rest.

Each precious day is a wondrous gift, received by us as one,

Enjoy these times while you may, and take part in all the fun.

Pass this message onward today, pay it forward in every way,

Beneath the warming sun and sky, please don't forget to pray.

All lives are like an open book, written on pages of earthen clay,

Just how we live and the nurture we give, a fond script to display.

A legacy left to young and old, to be shared by one and by all,

A precious memory of golden times, as we hear the blue bird call.

Very enjoyable poem and images. I particularly like the ending lines "A precious memory of golden times, as we hear the blue bird call."
