An Open Wound of Broken Heart

Updated on November 21, 2011

Behind the eyes of me

There is a hidden mourn

An open wound of broken heart

Still paint a blood, a pain, a scar

Takes time to heal, yes do I know

Yet losing you, pain never goes

Even after years you passed away

But life for me is not the same

This path of life without you beside

Feels unbearable at times

No strength, no passion, no energy or power

To climb the mountain, to move on without you

It feels impossible to carry on

But a smile and long deep breath, I stood up strong

Losing a best friend is unforgettable. Life without her is not the same either and no other friends out there could replace the love, the power, the passion, and the friendship me and Anna once share. Anna saved my life from a drive by shooting which instead shot and killed her. Before that incident happen, we were at school holding hand skipping along the grass chasing butterflies. Braiding flowers together and giving each other hugs, kisses, and special best friend promise. Skipping home from school, Anna mother came whacking her with a broom stick. I went to help Anna and got hit along with her. By then, a drive by shooter discharges its gun and Anna saved me from being hit. She was on top of me as we both fall hitting the red dirt. Anna died as I held her crying.

Such a bitter story with a sad ending to the physical, but remember, Anna's spirit lives on and she is away from the abuse in her waking life. To forgive her mother and the drive by shooter for their wrong doing is the best way to put a memory like this in its place. God Bless you.

Thank you all very much! This kind of pain never goes away, stays in the heart forever! I sometime wish its the other way around and sometime I wish this never happen. But I have to accept what happen even though it hurt. Thank you!

That kind of pain stays with you for a lifetime as well as the memories. Terrible way to lose your friend and a great way to remember her in a poem.

      Really sad Chanroth,

I know this must have been so hard to go through. By writing this you have honored her memory and hopefully helped you in the healing process as well.

      God bless,

      Sunnie

      Hi Chanroth.

      Lovely but sad poem.

If had been the other way round i'm sure Anna would have written the poem with your name in it.

      Take care Chanroth.
