A Hoot Owl's Haiku
Please Do Give a Hoot
The owl gives a hoot,
By the moon's silvery light.
in darkness of night.
A wise sage to watch,
The world to be viewed below,
as time moves so slow.
He sits in lofty trees,high,
as a regal king,
The woods, his royalty brings.
With golden eyes, bright,
He sees with the finest sight,
on guard, till day's light.
Prey is what he seeks,
Then to swoop, his wings to beat,
tasty mouse, to eat.
The owl, nature's way,
To sleep by light of the day,
in his tree to stay.
