An Unfinished Affair

Updated on July 20, 2013

There it was ugly.... old..

from laying there

like dirty laundry, damp,

.musky smell...floating in the air

We left it undone...

unkept... unfinished

not only hopes and dreams

but also... tender wishes

What do you do with...

an unfinished affair

When the lust is over..

there is nothing left to spare

Now lets look .. deep down inside

what was fun and great

has now become

a stinky diaper ride

The pretense of words...

that are best... left unsaid

don't let them free,

keep them safe.. in your head

When our love is all spent,

give me the bill...

When you are always...looking up...

you must climb that hill

.

      Michael,

I cannot tell whether I should laugh or cry; this stirs up all kinds of emotions for me, but one thing I can say is I LOVE IT! Now I must go wander over to another wonderful hub of yours so I can further investigate the ways of your mind!

Nothing worse than piled up laundry, for that matter any kind of dirty laundry. I know that I was happy to get out of a relationship that began to stink, the ship was sinking, time to jump to safety. No sense on going down with a sinking relationship, time to pack my clean laundry and leave. I loved your play on words here my poet, well done, voted up and shared.

      Dearest Michael,

Oh me, that is a visual there in word and imagery! Dirty laundry not good, but your poetry is as always.

      Voted up +++

      Hugs and love, Faith Reaper

This is so sad. yet common sense ruled the day. You cannot continue to live with dirty laundry.

      May your future be blessed.

      Ahh my Kitty Cat,

many have told me not to waste my poems on comments but it personalizes my reponse to the commenter .. giving them a single poem written only for them, to take or leave, whichever it means to them .

thank you for the visit.. CAT ..you are special as are the women of hubpages who write with dignity and grace and intelligence, Poets all.

I like how it started off very much, i think i would have used a better metaphor than like a stinky diaper ride lol but you got the point across haha
