Strange love!

Updated on September 5, 2014

Your drowsy eyes

lace a smile on your pink lips,

I know not the reason;

Niggardly,

you open your tiny eyes

and shut them again;

Now

wide open are your bright eyes

that see me curiously,

your lips curling round

into a question mark;

Why do you laugh at me?

Why are your hands and legs restless?

Do you know me?

Do you recognize me?

Do you want to come to me?

You are an enigma!

Let me lift you

out of the cradle

and chat with you for a while!

      The joy of talking to a baby about anything and everything while they look at you with such trusting eyes.
