An obituary for her – the poem

Updated on August 20, 2012

Oh dear………..!

Today suddenly,

A cuckoo sang a song

Of remedy

for the world so shady.

Silhouette shine

A handful of crime,

Futile effort to foster

a bullet for every dime.

Some feral pleasure

In forgotten boulevard,

Pregnant earth sighs with

foeticide for girl child.

Unanswered questions ……..!!!!

The arrow of error hits

Bulls eye in the empathy,

How a mother can be bare

vessel without sensitivity?

Mamma…tell my shame?

Why on earth…you hate?

Me is never came to be

As before being, hate ate me.

Mamma, you living life in every moment,

But I have died a death in the first instant.

I wonder…

Would not you have liked

To see the Cloth line

adorned with small frocks?

Would not you have liked

the smell of Johnsons

baby products around the clock?

A song died unsung…..!

Those first steps…

Those first words…

Oh mama never you

even thought of….

A lot of glittering smiles….unsung

So many sparkling dreams…unseen

Lots of promises…unborn

Lots of courage…untold

For one needs courage to die even…..!

Then you signed gaily

My death

Certificate..without a blink,

Even before the cuckoo

Could feel

the advent…without a hint.

If only one would have been

A mother

not a killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a new tomorrow will be there:-)
a new tomorrow will be there:-) | Source

Hope for tomorrow…!

Many predicaments can’t be excuses…………

A Life gone by

before the

very sign of spring

Another life rolls on

Just a question….

is there no predicament anymore?

The cuckoo flew away…

In search of a world

Not so shady……

May be there will be A tomorrow

To sing some sweet melody

To welcome

few smiles in

New sublime spring …………….!!!!

simply awesome, ....and congrats Deegha, for a brave small step in eradicating the blackship of society...words can do wonders and I pray to God, your words to reach to those dumbly ears who cant hear the screams of yet to be born Gems which they heartlessly through away , as a priceless particle of dust !

Thank you very much @time2rite...for such an insightful review of my poem. Brave heart you are as you did not have any doubt when you were pregnant before your marriage. If only all females would have had a heart and courage like you to love their yet to be born child. I have tried my best to put my emotion towards those less fortunate souls in this poem. With the comments here, I am feeling that may be I am little successful in my endeavor in the issue. My effort is to just to create an awareness about the tragic issue so that there can be a mass view against it.

      Thank and regards,

This is a beautiful yet powerful poem written about such a horrible, preventable tragedy! As a mother myself, I could never understand how one could choose to have her own child, her own flesh and blood ripped from her body or left to die after birth. Pregnancy and motherhood is a gift that I will always treasure~even though I found myself pregnant before I married my husband. There was never any doubt in my mind that I would love this child: male or female; whole or "broken". I consider my children to have been carried under my heart and they have remained in my heart even though now, they are grown men. Thank you for so forcefully addressing such a volatile subject so eloquently!

This poem is awesome, dhbrh, and really sad too, a life that never had a chance to have a life. I am sharing. I thought of writing on this subject as well, but I would never have done such an outstanding job as you have done here. Voted Way Up except funny. God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

      Thank you dear Michelle,

Your visit and comment with votes and all... is much appreciated here.

Its a shameful reality in some part of our country and even others as well. The people in power should be actually aware to stop this issue to be more concerned about the less privileged section of our society so that this of type of tragedy can be completely stopped for a better and secured future for the girl child.

Foeticide is a tragedy. Once saw a film on abortion and threw up. Thanks for highlighting the problem in a beautiful but tragic poem. Votes up and away, my dear.

Thank you @ No Clue.....for your kind comment and visit here. Yes many song unsung which not even completely wrote like the female foeticide issue itself is the burning tragedy of society today. One way we talk of growth and prosperity while may be the same page of the news paper will bear a story of female foeticide.
