An Ode to Poetry

Updated on July 9, 2012

The poet writes...

what is on his mind

but his own emotions...

is what he finds

expression of words...

on a page

love, pain or just to rage.

The topic is his...

to pick and choose

writng of his love... for her

he has nothing to lose.

A woman reads....

a woman knows

how a love can come....

from written prose

These words of love... are for you

Sent across... the ocean blue
to warm your heart...

and light your soul
to fill the void...

of lost love's hole.

Michael, beautiful expressions, a tad bit sad but absolute true. Love the flow, it just takes you along on a journey and shows you the inner world of a poet in the most intimate way... Amazing!

Very nice. I love the last image--it reminds me of our downtown library. Your flow of language is good and the rhymes read so smoothly like a leaf being guided down a country creek.

Across the ocean, that does sound sad....but beautiful.
