And she sits there...

Updated on August 16, 2012
Source

And she sits there

Staring into space

With nowhere to go

Nowhere to look

No one to know

Who would want to know

Who’d wanna care

And she sits there

Silent and alone, every night

But deep down

She doesn’t even care

She knows this was her fate

To leave this world alone

To leave this world of hate

To back down from all

To give up on it all

To leave this world behind

And it’s happening, tonight.

And when the sun goes up

And the night is long gone

Everyone will be wondering

What happened to that girl?

I remember, she was lonely

So lonely, she just sat there

She didn’t talk to anyone

You could see it in her eyes

Now where has she gone?

Should we have talked to her?

Helped her out a little?

Told her that it’ll be okay?

Would it have done anything?

Now we’ll never know

But if only she knew

That all wasn’t lost

But now it’s too late

The girl is long gone, forever.

      thanks for reading ashish!

Cloudexplorer, thank you and I agree. This is why some people don't find true love, because in order to have true love you must have love for yourself first! Thanks for the insightful comment and for reading!

Such a sad poem, but a reality for some folks today, the answer is not in wanting others to shower a person with love, its in showering others selflessly without regard to expecting it to come back in return.

This is what I feel, and if that person just sits there expecting to receive some sort of attention well then I guess they quit on themselves having potential to love the world.

It's a shame though, but it is something that does occur in life. Lets hope more people wise up to learn more about self love, as opposed to worrying about other loving them so much. The maybe they can extend such a love outwards, and no one will be left behind with such a cypher.

Anyhow great poem, it was well written and well thought out, voted up!

I'm so glad you posted this, it is thought provoking and beautifully done. I think we've all had those moments of 'what if I'd said something or did something' maybe it wouldn't have changed anything, but we would have tried. Voted up

An all-too familiar tale from my years as a teacher. Well done; you captured quite a bit of emotion with few words; the sign of talent.
