Nobody's Angel

Updated on March 15, 2013

**dedicated to all heart-breakers out there ^;^

I gave my heart away a long time ago, my whole heart... and I never really got it back.

I fell in love with an angel
He sees no one sees in me
This perfect stranger
Can break a heart so easily

He has the heart of pure gold
And a pair of misty eyes
This angel of mine
Stole my heart inside

He’s a masterpiece of beauty
Carved with the finest tool
Breathe with the softest of whisper –
You could be fooled!

He doesn’t belong to me
Or to anyone else
He’s a carefree heart-breaker
As if “love” is for sale

This is just a warning
For anyone who sees
The face of an angel
Blinding you innocently

Cover your eyes
Guard your heart
You don’t want to know
How the pain turns to scar

I just commented on Tony's work... and used the word "powerful"... I have to use the word again because at first it was so sweet and romantic and then the ball dropped "be warned"... basically. Really awesome and it rings true sometimes. We often delude ourselves of what's really in front of us, fascinated by bright lights and sparkly things. Sometimes it's nothing like you thought. Loved it.

Voting this up, awesome, and beautiful. It is always great to read your poetry. I just hope it is not your heart that you always write about. Personally, I mainly write the emotions that I have felt at one time. A poem that we all can relate to, another great job Unknown spy.

Beautiful, as always, Spy. Yes, there are a lot of heartbreakers out there, but if love is what you seek, you need to keep moving towards the dream. Learn from the past, but don't let it harden your heart!
