Annabel (poem)

Updated on August 29, 2014

This house this shelter of a young man’s Joy

Its walls are now the echoes of his tears

A letter was the source of all his fears

For every ray of light it did destroy

-

Oh Annabel the streets resound her name

How could you leave me in such agony

For now tomorrow is so hard to see

As loneliness and shadows fill lost flame

-

He promises his love will linger on

For he will be a beacon of their love

It truly was a gift from up above

He’ll show the world that true love is not gone

-

But now for this his life he must postpone

For now Pauline is calling on the phone

Glad to see that he was able to move on.

I love that ending from Annabel to Pauline. Creatively done.
