Apart At Fault - A Poem

On a single seat

Rests a single man

Eating a single meal

Making a single plan.

Alone at the office

Alone in the park

Alone in the day

Alone after dark.

Daily heavy sighs

Other singles pass by.

Looking for that certain spark.

While most pass without remark.

The skies open up over the fields.

The acorns and weeds produce their yield.

Beyond the measure of the new fallen snow.

Those encompassed by loneliness lose their glow.

On a single seat

Rests a single lady

Eating a single meal

Making a single plan

If only she looked over

And noticed the single man.
