April Haiku #1098

Updated on April 4, 2017
A time of destruction...
A time of destruction... | Source

Times of destruction

illuminated by moon

firm reality.

The charred pinion bark

our tan sun dried underbrush

up to the knee cap.

Lost lumber will peek

through the tall wheat and the moon

hidden erosions.

On shale and granite

footsteps tread upon our path

lit by the moonlight.

There the Milky Way

once revealed the wildfire burn

eternity bright.

To sense history

before green begins to grow

after winter snow.

Beautifully descriptive and well done. Building a haiku into a series wouldn't be the easiest task.

What an amazing haiku! I love the story format. I wrote something similar to that, I call it a haiku story, but it is definitely not as a good as yours. Kudos!

This is timely, with so much destruction throughout the world. Woven beautifully!
