April Haiku #8732

Updated on April 14, 2017
Source

Time needs to slow down

as fern near the underbrush

or a trail in trees

weekend in concrete

seems faster then in the pines

or cool brown bird's nests

once different clock

seedling sprouts from springtime earth

mature in slowed frame

as my children grow

what seems to be a short blink

my grey history

as years are passing

the oak gains and losses leaves

each sprout a slow growth

so I speed forward

nature watches with slight grin

my time, not green time

Love the last line and the intimacy of the words with nature.

I find that I have to stroll out into nature often or time seems to go to fast. Thank you for all the kind comments and Happy Easter to those who celebrate. Jamie

This reminds me to slow down and look around. Take time to see nature. Well done.

Time passes on so quickly, and our children grow up so rapidly. I always enjoy your poetry. Thank you.

Yes I agree, time does need to slow down. It goes by so quickly!

Fantastic Jamie, I love that you can come up so easily with Haiku. I don't seem to get the hang of them.

      Blessings my friend.

My favorite lines: "my grey history," and "my time, not green time." They tie it together for me, lovely haiku, Jamie, about signs of passing time.

Your imagery popped my awareness of time and its passing. I love how your tied in nature with time.
