Are Writers Losers?

Is writing a pleasure for you?

You can write as much as you want or like to for pleasure, or for that paycheck.

The feedback you get from your readers is most useful.

Are you getting the feedback you always wanted to in writing daily?

You submit your work daily and expect feedback don't you?

What makes you tick when you write and seek feedback?

Is writing a wonderful part of you?

Did you always want to be a writer?

So, you always wanted to be a writer and your parents were totally against your decision.

Why?

Your parents knew being a writer is a failure.

Well that is most parents see writers, right?

It is only a dream that may or may not come true for you.

Being a writer takes effort and great skills.

All writers don't write in the same ways.

Ever thought of why you call yourself a writer?

All writers don’t like competition.

Writers are looked at failures at some point in their lives by themselves.

If the manuscript is not published after several years, a writer can become depressed by the negative feedback from an unsupported family, or friends.

Writing is not looked at as a good job for many individuals.

The pennies received speak for itself.

Are you good enough to write?

Are you worthy enough to cope with rejection, self-esteem, failure, and success?

When a writer doubts their work before it reaches the publishing world, these are excuses from an insecure writer.

If a writer feels their written work is not good enough in their eyes, then sending it off to a publisher would be a worthless thought.

To meet goals in writing is to be up for all challenges.

Plan and market your target in mind.

Without goals you won't know where to go the sense of direction fades.

You can't live without a goal. Writing without goals will lead to many failures.

Be clear, specific and make sure to be measurable.

Have a time limit to get by.

You want to benefit from writing and get that feedback as planned, so work for it.

Don't doubt what you have already written.

Do what you know in your limits.

What are your failures as a writer.

Do you think writing is earning you enough money?

Writers write and rewrite to make their work readable and worthy to all readers.

To read better, and to understand the language better.

A habit practiced daily can become a greater part of you.

The life of a writer is to gain feedback, fans, and intelligence in what they do.

Writers want to be acknowledged by others.

When attempting to write seriously a writer can fail easily.

Continue writing to accept your failures.

Some people will say your writing is brilliant, while others will say your writing is not worth a read.

Writers can be fascinated with failure, are you?

Failure makes the whole experience in writing difficult.

What does failure show you in writing?

I know I learn better from my failures.

Do writers have to be younger than forty?

Should writing be about age?

Many writers are faced with the age obstacle. Though, some writers still want to write at an older age.

Is it too late for you to write a book?

Writing was not a number one choice on my list.

I wrote many pages of something which I don't remember much of now. Though as the years passed these pages stayed in a dark place.

Since my move to Croatia I decided to write and improve on my English language.

My main focus on the Croatian language got me on a different track of languages.

I enjoy writing and sharing my ideas so freely.

When something meets the eye of any individual don't lose that opportunity.

Does writing have an age issue?

You can writer whenever you want to and at any age.

A writer fails at writing in the following ways:

In searching for common traits from the other writer can you down.

The lack of information can be misleading.

Write to make the reader think. A boring article or book can be frustrating.

Misreading and misunderstanding in writing.

The idea of leaving your reader in suspense can be mind blowing or a bore.

When your reader understands the way you write, every part of your work falls into place.

Never miss your point in writing.

Focus on the topic.

You need to give your reader a picture of your book or article. Use greater imagination and be specific.

Whether you are telling a story or writing a hub, know what you want from your writing.

Mean what you say in your writing.

Writing becomes a failure when writers constantly make excuses for their mistakes.

A good writer would work their hardest to write, and fix up their mistakes.

Advice on writing is always challenged.

The strength of your knowledge shows in learning experiences.

A good writer always seeks new ideas.

Knowledge is power!

If you want to write you have to make the time!

Writers are judged by others there is no doubt in that.

Don't let that get you down!

Take in criticism; you need all sorts of feedback to know where your writing is leading you.

I don't mind criticism!

The great way to earn as a writer is to learn from readers.

Do you think you have what it takes to be a professional writer?

Be proud and hold your head high. Only you will know that for sure.

Have faith in you and continue to write and believe in hope.

Be keen on your writing.

Writing is a painful process.

The feedback can make writers feel negative or positive.

Sometimes writers fear criticism.

Others are trying to help you be grateful.

To improve your writing skills feedback from a trustworthy individual will show you more about writing for an audience.

Share what you know and have on your mind daily.

Outline:

You can have the idea to write about but the actual appropriateness of the argument may not come together.

The effectiveness of the project must work hand in hand.

Organize and plan properly when writing.

An opportunity to write can make you feel happy or miserable.

I have a steady feedback on Hubpages and would like to improve on that note.

Time seems to be far-fetched for me.

The goal achieved in writing has shown me so much more than what I had expected.

I knew from my first article written to my very last article without the help from my online friends I would have not succeeded.

I chose to write about what helps other writers.

Writers learn from other writers.

Ignoring to help other writers is not a kind gesture.

Returning the favor shows a writer can count on you to grow together.

It will all come to you once you have worked your hardest.

Writing opened my mind to be hopeful and to believe in my work.

I believe in time, I will see more changes in my writing.

Experiences have taught me to be more positive and helpful to others.

Writers don't necessarily need to work alone.

Be fruitful and truthful!

''I believe that writing opens the mind to all kinds of experiences, and when you believe you become hopeful in life.''

What lies in the heart can’t be a secret forever.

Let out your ideas and share your greatness in writing.

Improve your writing

My favorite Line

Devika, I am back because I heard the statement that "writers are losers." But in actuality people who do not read are the losers, by missing out on adventures, romance, information and education.

Your question is so important, and I will answer you question again. Writers are NOT losers. None readers are the ultimate losers.

      thank you for this Devika.

      Blessings and Hugs dear friend.

People write for different reasons. There was a helpful questionnaire I did once through Hubpages that helped writers look at the reasons why they write. Interesting questions DDE.

You made some really good points. I know that most of the people I know, including family don't think of writing as a "serious" occupation. It's something we dabble at, but not a real job. However, I think that if it's in a heart of a person to write, they should do their best to seek the desire of their heart. If it's really a gift, it won't go away and God will bless it.

      Excellent points!

I think as a writer first of all it gives me happiness to get published and read by others. Feedback is very important, in fact that gives utmost satisfaction. Money is important but secondary. Moreover I don't think there is a lot of money even at a later stage.

Acceptability as a writer in itself is a great motivation to write further.

Thank you for this engaging hub! Voted up!

I'm probably one of the few writers who will admit that I write for money. I enjoy writing, but because I have bills to pay, I write to get paid money so that I can pay the bills. I also like criticism, because without that kind of feedback I could not grow and get better. I really enjoyed reading your hub and the inspirational photos.

My mom always supported me for writing also because she loves reading and her home is full of books. My dad considers it good only if it's fruitful. For me it's a hobby, something I would do regardless if I earn or not and have done for so many years, even before getting my first computer. Of course, in order for it to be pleasant, I must touch topics I am passionate about, otherwise it feels like a terrible chore.

For some not having lots of comments or other feedback may be difficult. It is not for me really. I do not write so that others will come necessarily although I do like to have those with whom I have formed a close connection to come and read.

I write many times because it is cathartic. After I have written something troubling or something wonderful that has happened it is freeing to me if you can understand that.

Hoping all is well with you and yours.

No, writing doesn't pay me well and that's why I'm keeping my full time job. However, this is my first love and I enjoy doing it. Writing (and reading) is my refuge. It is a gift to be able to express oneself in a form of writing, no matter what style. And yes of course, feedback only makes it alive and appreciated particularly the positive ones and for the not so positive ones...I'm grateful enough for their readership.

Writing is a gift to use to our very best. I believe age is a distinct advantage in writing; not only do you have much more experience of life in general, you have a vast pool of people, places, events and situations to draw upon.

In fact, I would say it was essential to have experience of life (that doesn't necessarily mean you have to be older) so that you can write with conviction, realism and convey heart-felt emotion.

      Good points here, Devika!

An average, non-famous writer is only a failure in a consumerist, unfettered capitalist, oligarchy system that only values human beings for their ability to produce things that are valued by the wealthy. I don't buy into any deeper moral or spiritual value in consumerism, capitalism, and especially not oligarchies so that definition of failure is meaningless to me.

My definition of failure for myself is never sharing my voice when I think I have something important or meaningful to say that may benefit other people or reduce suffering for even just a single person. I've reached literally millions of people with my ideas about valuing human beings suffering through poverty.

Many people have told me that I made them feel like they have worth; how could I possibly be a failure if I help other people recognize their own value as human beings?

Writing isn't a competition for me; it's communication. When one of my magazine articles sells I don't think, I beat all those other articles submitted at the same time, but instead I think, wow, my piece was good enough to impress and please the editor. I'm doing my best and hoping to find people who value my voice.

Losers are people who hurt others, use others, stand by pretending that suffering does not exist, or see no value in other human beings except what they produce that they can use, as if they were machines or crops to be harvested.

My parents too would have supported me in anything I chose to do Devika. This is a very encouraging hub for writers. The feedback I get from other writers is what I treasure more than anything else. Having your writing accepted for publication or being paid for it is a bonus but to me much less important at this stage. Having my writing read and enjoyed. and getting feedback is necessary to enable you to improve and learn. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Voted up.

I think we all have to find our own definitions of success and failure. Allowing others to have that power over us is a dead end street. Once we define our goals the success is all of our own making.
