Arizona Dust Storm

Updated on September 17, 2014

Arizona Dust Storm

Clouds transform to pink

cotton candy at the fair.

Could melt in your mouth.

Night is on its way.

Sun sinks beyond the horizon.

A soft orange glow.

Darkness comes early,

there is no time for sunset.

Dust clouds from nowhere.

Lightning flashes white,

warning strikes against the sky:

storm is approaching.

The sky has turned brown.

Dirt, falls like a winter storm.

This is a haboob.

Ten minutes later,

raindrops splatter on pavement.

Make streaks on my car.
