Arm In Arm

Updated on September 17, 2013

I wouldn’t miss what was,

If I didn’t know how it could be.

And so love remains an enigma,

Wrapped in a mystery.

Take away every memory,

Of love that I ever had,

And my heart will not ache,

And miss it half as bad.

She turned me down. I ran away.

She died when I looked the other way.

Hold her. Hold him. Seize the day!

And far too soon… “it’s” gone…away.

I thought it was “bubble-gum”,

“I want to hold your hand”,

The Beatles said it long ago.

Now…now…I understand.

And I want to say, “I love you”,

Before you, too, slip away.

And that day, too,

Will be the longest day.

"And that day too, will be the longest day."

You have a wonderful way of pulling at my heartstrings with your beautiful words.
